GridOto.com - Per Agustus 2025, panjang jalan tol di pulau Sumatera telah mencapai 1.085,93 kilometer dengan 16 ruas.
Tapi dari 16 ruas jalan tol tersebut, mana jalan tol pertama yang ada di pulau Andalas?
Ternyata jalan tol pertama yang ada di Sumatera sudah lahir sejak tahun 1986.
Yakni Jalan tol Belawan-Medan-Tanjung Morawa (Belmera) yang dibangun oleh kontraktor Takenaka Nippo Hutama dan konsultan Jepang PCI (Pacific Consultant International).
Jalan Tol Belmera sepanjang 42,7 kilometer ini dikelola oleh PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk melalui Representative Office 1 Jasamarga Nusantara Tollroad Regional Division.
Ruas jalan tol ini memiliki tujuh Gerbang Tol (GT), meliputi GT H. Anif, GT Tanjung Morawa, GT Bandar Selamat, GT Mabar, GT Belawan, GT Tanjung Mulia, dan GT Amplas.
Selain itu juga dilengkapi empat interchange, 14 jembatan perlintasan kendaraan, serta lima jembatan penyeberangan orang.

Keberadaan Jalan Tol Belmera memangkas waktu tempuh kendaraan dari Belawan menuju Tanjung Morawa.
Sebelumnya waktu tempuh dari Belawan menuju Tanjung Morawa 1 jam melalui jalan arteri.
Sedangkan melalui Jalan Tol Belmera, waktu tempuh hanya 30 menit.
Tarif Tol Belmera Tarif Tol Belmera mengacu pada Keputusan Menteri Pekerjaan Umum dan Perumahan Rakyat (PUPR) Nomor 1087/KPTS/M/2023.
Untuk tarif terjauh (sistem tertutup), sebagai berikut:
Gol I = Rp 9.000
Gol II & III = Rp 16.000
Gol IV & V = Rp 23.000
